A modern alternative to dental crowns.

Think you need a crown? You may not need one at all.

An ultra-thin, biomimetic alternative — used in roughly 47 clinics worldwide and only one in Canada — restores damaged teeth without removing your natural enamel.

Performed by Dr. Gloria Jung — Canada's only certified MINISH provider.

Does this sound familiar?

If any of these sound like you, MINISH may be the answer that preserves what's left of your natural teeth.

  • You were told a crown is your only option for a damaged or worn molar.

  • Your existing crown is failing, sensitive, or showing a dark line at the gum.

  • Years of grinding have flattened your bite, and you wake up with headaches, a sore jaw, or facial tension.

  • You want to repair a chipped or cracked tooth, but you don't want it shaved down to a stub.

  • You've already lost enamel to previous dental work, and you're worried about losing more.

If any of this is you, keep reading.

The next section explains the three things most patients aren't told before they agree to a crown.

What the standard quote doesn't tell you

Three things most patients aren't told about crowns.

None of this is your dentist's fault. It's a gap in what's taught in most dental schools across North America.

01

Crowns aren't the only restorative option, they're just the most familiar one.

For decades, the standard answer for a worn, cracked, or weakened tooth has been the same: cover it with a crown. But "standard" doesn't mean "only." Today there are minimally invasive restorations that work differently, bonded instead of cemented, that preserve far more of your natural tooth.

02

The damaging part of a crown isn't the crown itself, it's what's removed to make room for it.

Placing a traditional crown requires removing 1.5 to 2mm of natural tooth structure all the way around. That's most of your enamel, and once it's gone, it doesn't grow back. Every future treatment on that tooth starts from a smaller, more compromised foundation.

03

An ultra-thin, enamel-preserving alternative has existed for over a decade, but most dentists haven't been trained in it.

MINISH was developed in Korea and is performed only by authorized providers. Worldwide, there are roughly 47 authorized MINISH clinics. In Canada, only Dr. Gloria Jung is authorized to provide it. Most dentists in North America simply haven't had access to the training, which is why crowns are still the default.

If your dentist hasn't offered MINISH, it's probably not because it's the wrong choice. It's because almost no one in Canada is authorized to perform it yet.

How this came to Canada

The story behind MINISH.
1_dZ1v3gIvTkcpO-EMn2LgBA.jpg

It started with one question.

In Seoul, a dentist named Dr. Jung Ho Kang asked something most of his peers didn't: why do we have to remove so much of a healthy tooth to fix it?

The breakthrough.

Minish-Dental-Hospital.jpg

Dr. Kang spent years developing a different approach. Working with VITA ceramic from Germany, he engineered a restoration thinner than a contact lens, only 0.1 to 0.2 millimetres, that could be bonded molecularly to the tooth rather than mechanically cemented over a reduced one. He called it MINISH.

Over the next decade, MINISH was placed in more than 200,000 teeth around the world. Korean celebrities, whose smiles are part of their livelihood, sought it out for the same reason patients in Richmond do today: it looks real, it lasts, and it leaves your tooth intact.

How it reached Canada.

Dr. Gloria Jung had been practicing dentistry for years when she encountered MINISH in Korea. What she saw changed how she thought about restorative care. She trained directly under Dr. Kang at MINISH Dental Hospital in Seoul, completed her authorization, and brought MINISH to Dentudio in Richmond.

She remains, to this day, the only authorized MINISH provider in the country.

There was no authorized MINISH provider in Canada. So I went to Korea, trained directly under Dr. Kang, and brought it back to my patients at Dentudio. They have loved it ever since!

What MINISH actually is

Meet MINISH, the crown alternative that saves your tooth.

Ultra-thin. Minimally invasive. Bonded, not drilled. A restoration designed around preservation, not replacement.

At just 0.1 to 0.2mm thick, compared to about 1.2mm for a traditional crown, MINISH is one of the thinnest, most precise ceramic restorations available. It bonds to your tooth to become a single, unified structure that is strong, sealed, and indistinguishable from natural enamel.

Molar MINISH, engineered for back teeth.

Originally designed for front-tooth aesthetics, MINISH has evolved to handle the demands of back teeth, the teeth that take the brunt of biting, chewing, and grinding.

Molar MINISH is the version that replaces crowns. Same precision. Same enamel preservation. Built for chewing force.

MINISH vs. traditional crown: see the difference.

Same goal: a restored tooth. Two very different paths to get there.

What MINISH can solve, without a crown.

If you've been told you need a crown, or you're living with the fallout of past dental work, one of these probably describes your situation.

20221124 MINISH _ CON _ 1 _ PO _ 0049.jpg

1: Bite wear & grinding damage

Years of grinding can flatten your back teeth, shorten the vertical height of your bite, and create chronic jaw tension and headaches. MINISH rebuilds the lost height and restores your natural occlusion, often relieving symptoms you've been treating with painkillers.

040-cracked.png

2: Cracked or failing old crowns

If your existing crown is leaking, sensitive, or showing dark margins at the gum, the standard answer is another crown, and more drilling. In many cases, we can replace a failing crown with MINISH and rebuild what was lost, without going deeper into your tooth.

3: Cracked or chipped molars

A small crack doesn't have to mean a big crown. MINISH bonds over the damage and reinforces the tooth as a single unit, sealing it from further fracture without sacrificing the healthy structure around it.

broken tooth.png

4: Bite-related headaches & jaw tension

When your teeth wear unevenly, your jaw compensates, and your muscles pay the price. Many patients living with chronic tension headaches or jaw pain have an underlying bite problem. By restoring proper occlusion with MINISH, we often relieve symptoms that have lasted years.

dental cast.png

5: Sensitive teeth from old restorations

Old fillings, worn enamel, and aging crowns can leave dentin exposed, and your teeth reactive to cold, heat, and pressure. MINISH seals and protects the tooth surface, often reducing sensitivity within weeks.

6: Front-tooth replacement (MINISH Bridge)

Missing a front tooth and not ready for an implant? The MINISH Bridge is a conservative alternative to traditional bridges that doesn't require grinding down the healthy teeth next to the gap.

Custom design at the in-house MINISH Lab

Your restorations are digitally designed and milled with sub-100-micron precision from VITA ceramic crafted in Germany. Every MINISH is custom-made for your specific bite and surrounding teeth.

minish-veneer-process-24.png

Minimally invasive preparation

Most MINISH cases need only a light polish of the tooth surface, with little to no drilling and often no anesthesia. If you're replacing an existing crown, we remove the old crown and prepare the tooth with the smallest possible intervention.

minish-veneer-process-25.png

Permanent bonding

Your MINISH is permanently bonded to your tooth with a precise adhesive process, so the MINISH and your tooth function as a single, unified structure: strong, sealed, and lifelike.

Walk out and smile

No long downtime. You leave with a restored bite, sealed teeth, and a smile that looks and feels like your own, because most of it still is.

Trusted where smiles matter most

Why the world's most-photographed smiles trust MINISH.

For Korean celebrities, a smile isn't just an expression, it's an asset. They sit under the world's brightest lights, get photographed thousands of times a year, and can't afford to look fake. They need restorations that hold up under scrutiny, look real on camera, and preserve their natural teeth for careers that can last decades.

Which is why members of BLACKPINK, NewJeans, and other top K-pop artists have chosen MINISH at MINISH Dental Hospital in Seoul.

The same MINISH technology used on stages in Seoul, Tokyo, and Los Angeles is performed by Dr. Gloria Jung in Richmond or Downtown Vancouver: the same ceramic blocks, the same lab process, the same precision standards.

Your MINISH treatment is done by Dr. Gloria Jung

Roughly 47 authorized MINISH clinics exist in the world. Only one is in Canada, and Dr. Gloria Jung at Dentudio is the dentist behind it.

Dr. Jung trained directly under Dr. Jung Ho Kang, MINISH's inventor, at MINISH Dental Hospital in Seoul. She brought that standard of precision, artistry, and enamel preservation to Dentudio in Richmond, and she remains the only dentist in Canada authorized to perform authentic MINISH treatments.

If MINISH is this good, why haven't I heard of it before?

It's the most common question we get, and a fair one. Here's the honest answer.

01

It was developed in Korea, and only recently expanded into North America.

MINISH has been in clinical use in Asia for over a decade, with over 200,000 cases placed. North American expansion began only in the last few years. Most patients in Canada simply haven't encountered it yet, which means most patients are still being offered crowns as the default.

02

Only authorized clinics can perform it.

MINISH isn't a generic procedure that any dentist can offer. Authorization involves direct training at MINISH Dental Hospital in Seoul, access to proprietary VITA ceramic, and ongoing adherence to MINISH's clinical standards. Worldwide, roughly 47 clinics meet that bar. In Canada, one does.

03

Crowns are still the standard in dental schools.

Most dentists genuinely haven't been trained in MINISH. It's not in the standard North American curriculum yet. When your dentist recommends a crown, they're not wrong, they're recommending the option they were trained to provide. We just happen to offer a less invasive alternative most haven't had access to.

Now that you do know about it, the question becomes simple: is MINISH right for your specific tooth? That's exactly what your free consultation answers.

Both restorations last about the same length of time. The difference is what's left of your tooth when they don't.

The decision you make today

Your teeth, 10 years from now.

PATH A: THE CROWN PATH

You agree to the crown. 1.5 to 2mm of your natural tooth is removed. The crown is placed.

Ten years pass. The crown is approaching the end of its lifespan. The margin starts leaking. A small cavity forms underneath. Your dentist recommends a replacement, but this time, even more tooth has to go to make room for the new one. The tooth underneath is now mostly post and core, barely a real tooth anymore.

Each replacement compromises the foundation a little further. The cycle continues.

PATH B: THE MINISH PATH

You choose MINISH. Almost none of your natural tooth is removed. The MINISH is bonded to your tooth and becomes part of it.

Ten years pass. The MINISH is quietly doing its job. Your natural tooth is mostly intact underneath. When it eventually needs adjustment or refresh, your full range of options is still available, because nothing was sacrificed to put it there in the first place.

Your tooth is still your tooth.

Both paths take about the same amount of time. Both cost about the same. Only one keeps your tooth.

Real patients. Real results.

These are the moments that change how patients think about their teeth.
