What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a popular teeth alignment system worldwide. It uses clear, removable aligners that are custom-made for your teeth using computer scanning. Unlike traditional braces, there are no metal wires or brackets involved, making it a great choice for people who want to improve their smile discreetly.

The best part is, you can start enjoying the benefits of a better smile from the beginning of your Invisalign treatment. The aligners work to straighten your teeth right from the start.

How does Invisalign work?

1. Initial Consultation:

At Dentudio Dentists, your first visit will involve a face-to-face discussion with our Invisalign provider or dentist. During this meeting, we'll explain how Invisalign works, its role in teeth alignment, and provide guidance on taking care of your teeth during the treatment. This way, you'll have all the necessary information to make an informed decision.

2. Pre-treatment Profile:

Once you decide to proceed with Invisalign, we'll take several photographs of your face, smile, and teeth from different angles. X-rays will also be taken to ensure there are no underlying issues before starting the treatment. A comprehensive dental examination and cleaning appointment will be conducted as well to prepare for the Invisalign placement.

3. iTero Scanning:

Dentudio Dentists offers advanced iTero Scanning services, allowing us to show you a 3D simulation of the final result of your completed Invisalign treatment. This cutting-edge technology replaces traditional sticky alginate trays and is much more comfortable for patients. You can have this done during your examination or Invisalign consultation.

4. Preparatory Work:

Before we deliver the initial alignment trays, your teeth may require minor adjustments, which will be included in your overall treatment planning.

5. Wearing Trays:

Throughout the treatment, you will wear a new set of aligners approximately every 1-2 weeks, taking them off only for eating, drinking, and cleaning. Each time you switch to a new aligner, your teeth will gradually move. We'll schedule regular visits with your dentist every 4-5 weeks to monitor the progress of your treatment.

6. Completion:

Once you've finished using all the invisible aligners, we'll provide you with retainers at no extra cost. Retainers are essential to maintain the new, healthier alignment of your teeth.

Who is suitable for Invisalign?

Both adults and teenagers are good potential candidates for the Invisalign system. However,  children may not be good candidates for Invisalign as they are actively growing and developing. In this case, your dentist will recommend other treatment options for your child.

In certain situations, patients may require composite resin tags attached to the surface of their teeth to aid the clear aligners in gripping and moving them effectively. Not every patient needs these resin tags, and they are made from the same material as white fillings, ensuring easy and comfortable attachment and removal.

Another aspect that varies from patient to patient is the amount of interproximal reduction necessary. This procedure aims to create more space between teeth when there isn't enough room for expansion and straightening. To achieve this, we use thin discs to gently remove some enamel, freeing up the tooth for smoother future movement. Rest assured, the process is carried out with precision and care.

We warmly welcome any inquiries or if you need further information, please don't hesitate to contact us.
